We asked Jon Dooley, MD FAAP, a pediatrician at St. Joseph Health Center - Pediatric Clinic to share his insight after participating in CTC-RI's 12-month learning collaborative on pediatric weight management, funded by Tufts Health Plan. The project aimed to help practices become better equipped to intervene and positively impact children with weight management concerns.
Each year, CTC-RI presents project highlights and accomplishments to the Board of Directors This year the FY23 Accomplishments Report was aligned with our 5-year strategic plan and logic model.
In March, CTC-RI hosted the 2nd Task Force on Primary Care Workforce Development. The meeting has representation from the primary care training colleges and universities that train physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants (e.g., Brown University, University of Rhode Island, Salve Regina College, and Johnson and Wales).
CTC-RI kicked off the asthma quality improvement initiative this month in collaboration with RIDOH and Tufts Health Plan. Practices selected for this initiative include Dr. Concilio in Lincoln and P.R.I.M.A, Inc.
CTC-RI’s March Clinical Strategy Committee meeting shared strategies for building advanced primary care / integrated delivery system by looking at successful models from TX, PA and NY.
CTC-RI is kicking off a Prior Authorization project building off the work completed by the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner. Karen Labbe, RN, Managing Director of Utilization Management and Clinical Integration with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island will co-chair the committee with Peter Hollmann, MD.
The mission of the Care Transformation Collaborative of Rhode Island is to lead the transformation of primary care in Rhode Island in the context of an integrated health care system; and to improve the quality of care, the patient experience of care, the affordability of care, and the health of the populations we serve.
