In June, CTC-RI’s Clinical Strategy Committee (CSC) hosted a session entitled "MassHealth Primary Care Health Reform & Social Risk Adjustment.” This enlightening event was a collaborative effort featuring experts who shared their invaluable insights on transforming primary care and addressing social risk adjustment in the healthcare landscape. The dynamic lineup of presenters included: Arlene Ash, PhD, MS, UMass Chan Medical School, UMass Analytics and MassHealth; Dr. Mohamed Dar, MD, Senior Medical Director for Payment and Care Delivery Innovation, MassHealth; Martha Farlow, Policy Director for Payment and Care Delivery Innovation, MassHealth; and Tade Mengesha, Deputy Director for Integrated Fiscal Strategy, MassHealth. While presenters from MassHealth focused on efforts to support subcapitation models and payment reform, Dr. Arlene Ash, highlighted the role of data in empowering healthcare providers and administrators to make informed decisions. The presentations addressed critical topics in healthcare reform, focusing on enhancing primary care services and developing strategies to mitigate social risk factors. Attendees were engaged in lively discussions, exploring the significance of data-driven decision-making and innovative policy design for optimizing healthcare outcomes. The engaging discussions during the Q&A session further enriched the event, providing a platform for attendees to seek clarifications and explore collaborative opportunities with the speakers. Recording here and claim CME credits here.
