  • 26 Jun 2017

CTC-RI partnered with Bradley Hospital Learning Exchange to provide training for medical assistants, receptionists, practice managers and community health workers on Mental Health First Aid.   Three different training programs took place throughout the month of June, and a total of 40 CTC-RI practice staff who are participating in the Integrated Behavioral Health  and /or CHT initiatives  received 8 hours of training and were certified as Mental Health First Aiders.

“Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.”

“First aid for mental health is just as important as first aid for our bodies”-Chirlane McCray, NYC First Lady, and Certified Mental Health First Aider.
