Physician Support Line

Five psychiatrists decided to start a grassroots effort in order to help front-line physicians (MDs and DOs) who were struggling with any difficulties that were beyond their scope to manage in light of COVID. The recruitment effort quickly spread and after the launch on 3/30, the volunteer psychiatrists quickly spread to over 600. This peer-to-peer support service line is staffed from 8am-Midnight seven days per week. It is free and confidential. There is both a website, a phone number 1 (888) 409-0141, and  a one-page flyer that can be posted or shared among networks. They  a receive a variety of calls ranging from anxiety to survivor guilt to “decisional paralysis” with everything in between. Anyone who has attended medical school can call.
