The first RICAP symposium: The Rhode Island Behavioral Health Care System

The Rhode Island Community-Academic Partnership (RICAP) held its first Behavioral Health Symposium: RI's Behavioral Health Care System on March 26th. RICAP was launched in February with funding from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. The partnership is a collaboration between the Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council of RI (SUMHLC) and Brown University School of Public Health. Other participating organizations include RICARES, Oasis Wellness and Recovery Centers, the Mental Health Association of RI, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, RI. Invited speakers representative of state departments, the criminal justice system and the recovery community provided an overview of the behavioral health care delivery system, highlighting both innovative initiatives as well as current challenges.
