NCM/CC Best Practice Sharing: Geriatric Education Series on Dementia

The Rhode Island Geriatric Education Center presented Part 2:  Geriatric Education Series on dementia. Part 1 of the Geriatric Education Series, The Aging Brain: Signs and Symptoms of Cognitive Impairment was presented at the November NCM/CC Best Practice Sharing meeting. Part 2 of the Geriatric Education Series, Effects of Medication on Early Cognitive Impairment, was presented at the December meeting. Christine Eisenhower, PharmD, BCPS provided information on medications that may contribute to cognitive impairment, reviewed the safety and efficacy of approved treatments for early to mild cognitive impairment and provided education regarding supplements and clinical trial opportunities. Learners were eligible to receive CME/CEU’s.

Nurse Care Managers and Care Coordinators enrolled in the NCM Core Curriculum program will graduate from and present their capstone projects at the January and February  meetings. Congratulations!
