HITRC: A Beacon Community Resource

Members of the Rhode Island Beacon community have a unique opportunity to access a national Beacon-wide shared learning website. The HITRC Portal serves as a vehicle for Beacon communities across the country to meet online and through conference calls to connect with program staff and experts; facilitate program and cross-program communications; and to share knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned through Communities of Practice (CoP).

The five Beacon CoPs include:

Data & Performance Measurement focuses on developing robust performance measurement and feedback capabilities, testing new measurement approaches, and interfacing with national measurement organizations.
HIT & Meaningful Use focuses on resolving technology obstacles to realizing clinical transformation and meaningful use. They will also work to promote interactions with clinical Beacon teams, with RECs, State HIEs, and other ONC resources, and will test and document new technologies.
Leadership & Stewardship focuses on establishing Beacon direction, fostering collaboration and joint accountability across Beacon Communities, and interfacing with national leadership on key strategic objectives.
Clinical Transformation focuses on identifying and accelerating best practice care delivery innovations, leveraging HIT for performance improvement, and disseminating insights and evidence.
Sustainability focuses on strategic planning and implementation activities to sustain performance improvements and support infrastructure developed under the Beacon Program.
CoPs are formed by Beacon members who engage in a process of collective learning and share a concern or a passion.
